I was looking over "Paintball and Airsoft Battle Tactics" by Christopher E Larsen and I found a chapter on a topic that always interested me, it was on leadership in a paintball team. This is something that's always baffeled me because it doesn't come natural to me. There are a select few people I know that have this "good" leadership qualities and it is rare. Some people try to be a leader, but something about the job fails them. Others, like me, just arn't natural leaders. It would take some kind of work, or training on my part to lead, but in paintball, at some point or another, we all must lead. If you've ever followed you leader, only to see him get shot out and find yourself among less experienced players, then you became a leader at that point, like it or not. So I felt the chapter worth reading, even tho, I am not now, nor never have been a team leader. I found it supprising how humble a leader has to be. A true leader does more for his team, than his team does for him. They do carry each other, but a true leader leads from the front, he boost moral, he looks out for the welfare of others, and he doesn't seek glory or recognition for his efforts, he usually has to take it on the chin and just be proud in his character and abilities.
